1. Safe in Care - Kelso Hockey Club in partnership with parents

Kelso Hockey Club values the involvement of children in our sport. We are committed to ensuring that all children have fun and stay safe whilst participating in hockey.

To help us fulfil our joint responsibilities for keeping children safe, Kelso Hockey Club has introduced Safe in Care Guidelines. These Guidelines tell you what you can expect from us when your child participates in hockey and details the information we need from you to help us keep your child safe.

All information will be treated with sensitivity, respect and will only be shared with those who need to know, e.g. a team manager or first aider.

1 TRANSPORTATION OF CHILDREN
Players are expected to arrange their own way to and from games. Coaches are prepared to assist and help with transport, but it is the parents/carers responsibility to arrange this.

2 PHOTOGRAPHS, PUBLICATIONS, WEBSITE, SOCIAL MEDIA & PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS

Your child may be photographed or filmed when participating in Kelso Hockey Club. These may be used for training purposes and there may be occasions when the club will reproduce photographs of players on the club website, social media and in club promotional materials. All reasonable steps will be taken to obtain parental consent, and in the absence of any explicit objection; those responsible will act in the best interests of the child.

Rules everyone should follow on the website and social media pages:
1. No-one under the age of 14 can join – information will be communicated to parents
2. Kelso Hockey Club will not tolerate abusive posts or messages
3. Only the administrators (coaches) may post pictures and agree to people joining the website and social media groups

Anyone found to be breaking these rules will be asked to leave our website and Facebook page.
