The game started off at a high pace and this was maintained throughout the duration of the match with both teams striving to create openings for shots on goal. The home side had several attempts but all were well dispatched by Georgina in goal, her strong clearances giving no chances of rebounds. Then just before half time a quickly taken free hit by Zoe H just outside Watsonians’ twenty-three was passed straight into the circle to an unmarked Robyn F who hit a cracking strike straight past the unsuspecting keeper to give Kelso the lead going into the break.
The second half continued in the same vein with the above two players’ phenomenal work rate setting the example for the whole team to follow, battling to preserve their lead until the final whistle which they did to earn them such a well-deserved 1-0 win over their opponents.
An outstanding effort from the U16s and a great way to finish their league campaign.
