2. Players' code of conduct


Kelso Hockey Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its members and to its child protection policy. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administration and parents associated with the club should always show respect and understanding for the safety and wellbeing of others.

A breach of the following will be deemed serious. The coaching staff will deal with any minor rules broken appropriately.

As a member of Kelso Hockey Club you are expected to follow club rules;

• All players must respect the rules and respect officials and their instructions and decisions.
• The use of bad or offensive language will not be tolerated. Clean air act.
• All players must respect opponents.
• Players are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst representing the club.
• Players will not arrive at any venue under the influence of either alcohol or drugs.
• Players must pay any fees for training or events promptly.
• Players must wear suitable kit for training and match sessions, as agreed with the coach/team.
• Players should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach or team manager if they are
going to be late.
• Players will respect the rights, dignity and worth of everyone involved in the game on and off the pitch regardless of
their gender, ability or cultural background.
• Players will adhere to anti-doping policies.

Should there be a breach of any of the above the following steps will be taken to resolve the situation.

• Players will be asked to appear before representatives of the committee
• Players may be asked to leave the club if the offence is deemed serious enough.

By registering with Kelso Hockey Club, all players agree to the players code of conduct set out by the Kelso Hockey Club and understand the procedures and the outcomes involved.
