3. Parents/Spectators' code of conduct


Kelso Hockey Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administration and parents associated with the club should, at all times, take account of the clubs child protection policy and show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are always encouraged to be open and to share any concerns with Mary Weir.

• All parents/spectators must respect game rules, coaches and officials and their decisions.
• The use of bad language or negative comments, which may cause upset to club members or players, will not be tolerated
• All parents/spectators must respect players and opponents.
• No smoking is permitted at the side of the pitch
• All Parents/Spectators will respect the rights, dignity and worth of everyone involved in the game on and off the pitch regardless of their gender, ability or cultural background.
• All Parents/Spectators will not arrive at any venue under the influence of either alcohol or drugs.
• Parents must deliver players to pitch and collect from pitch – the club is not responsible for the player
until they are on the pitch.
• Parents/Spectators are not permitted to use cameras without the permission of the coach/manager.
• Parents/Carers are requested to ensure that their children keep to agreed timings for
training/competitions/games and inform the coach/manager if they are going to be late.
Parents/Spectators displaying these kinds of behaviour will be asked to leave the pitch immediately.

By registering as a parent with Kelso Hockey Club, all parents agree to abide by the rules set out above
