Kelso U12 Boys participated in an exhilarating tournament last Sunday at Watsonians Hockey Club. The event, featuring six teams in a round-robin format, brought together young talents from Grange HC, ESM HC, York City HC, Inverleith HC, and our gracious hosts, Watsonians. Under the bright skies and ideal conditions for hockey, the boys showcased their skills, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day.

The tournament presented a variety of challenges, as the boys faced a range of competitive matches that truly tested their abilities. Despite mixed results, the team emerged with plenty of positives to take away, creating a memorable event that the boys thoroughly enjoyed.

Our defense, Ruari, Oliver and Archie L, put on a great display, marshalling the backline and limiting their opponents to just five goals throughout the tournament. The midfield trio of Archie S, Chris and Rory worked relentlessy with a mass of energy, setting the tempo for the team's performance. The frontline made up of Tenny, Murray and Harry worked tirelessly throughout the matches, moving off the ball to work for each other and, with the rest of the team, pushed forward to score a combined total of 6 goals, keeping the opposition's defense on their toes.

Beyond the scores and statistics, the Kelso U12 Boys displayed good sportsmanship and teamwork. Every player contributed to the collective effort, supporting each other on and off the field.

A special thanks to the organisers, Watsonians Hockey Club, for hosting a fantastic event that provided a platform for these young players. Our U12 Boys eagerly anticipate their next opportunity to take to the field and continue their hockey journey.
