Kelso 1s hosted Preston Lodge 1s at the weekend anticipating a tight, closely contested game and so it proved. Unfortunately, the home side started off slowly and allowed Preston Lodge to capitalise on this and get a quick break, scoring an early goal. Stung into action, Kelso retaliated quickly and scored themselves from a great pass from Pippa Trotter to Imogen Johnstone-Jones who hit a fantastic strike into the back of the net.

The visitors were then awarded a penalty corner towards the end of the first quarter and with a well hit ball at goal, they scored with a great deflection high into the top corner taking the score to 2-1 in their favour.

Kelso pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half and both teams had their chances with several shots on goal, but the goalkeepers kept clean sheets and the match finished 2-1 to Preston Lodge in what was a tough physical encounter.
