Kelso started defensively, keeper Ailsa defending well, with the rest of her defence keeping their cool, closing down the Inverleith attack at 2 penalty corners managing to deny them of an early lead.

Once settled, Kelso took the upper hand during quarter 1 from a well worked penalty corner. A decisive attempt, saw the injection come from Imogen JJ to Beth L on the left, who slipped it back for IJJ to convert making it 1-0.

A steady second quarter saw neither team adjust the scoreline. Youngsters Robyn Ford and Zoe Horsburgh proved to be advantageous for the Kelso side displaying great work rate and fight to help their team keep the lead.

Kelso’s attacking line started the third quarter meaning business with a second brilliantly executed penalty corner. This time it was Lucy to inject to the top of the D, for a slick zig zag between Linsey and Imogen for Linsey to add her name to the scoresheet to make it 2-0.

The home side proved to be fit and showed no sign of backing down. Inverleith caught Kelso off guard at the beginning of Q4 where their quick attack managed to nip one past the Kelso defence making it 2-1. Forward and midfield lines worked hard to keep the ball from their defensive D, and managed to see out the rest of game with no change to the scoreline.
